People and planet before profit

Organic Ilford cic is a community-led social enterprise.

OI pools the collective buying power of the community to support small farms that are growing food ecologically.

We source fresh chemical-free vegetables, fruit, bread, milk and eggs from small-scale farms, local growers & artisanal producers as close to Redbridge as possible to sell directly to our community through our weekly box scheme.

Farmers

Farmers

A fair deal for farmers

We work directly with a handful of small-scale UK farmers and wholesalers we know and trust. Our farmers only use ecological methods - absolutely no chemicals or GMOs - and work hard to improve soil health.

We pay our farmers a fair price for their produce which helps them stay in business and brings about a fairer, more resilient food system.

Direct to our community

When you sign up to a regular bag you become a member of Organic Ilford cic.

Being a member of our box scheme is not just about delicious, chemical-free produce, it's about being part of an organisation that's trying to positively change what we eat, how we eat and how it's farmed.

I have to comment on the produce, particularly the veg last week. It really is so different from anything you get elsewhere, even organic. I never want to go back. Well done for organising this and hope you keep being successful.

Working with, not against, Nature

Organic & regenerative farming works with natural patterns and uses safe and chemical-free methods of growing, pest-control and fertility. This protects wild and edible biodiversity and human health.

Unlike big, industrialised factory-scale farming, localised, ecological, small-scale agriculture has positive effects on the environment.

By being a member of our scheme, your money has a direct impact in supporting local and national ecological systems.

Being able to trust that there are no chemicals in my family’s food gives me total peace of mind. Down with processed food, let’s get back to REAL food!

Investing in our future

CIC stands for Community Interest Company. As a social enterprise, we cannot siphon off profits, which means the money spent by our veg bag customers stays in the community through paying staff a fair wage and supporting local projects, so in effect, our customers are directly investing in improving where they live.
